Our Activity
CMI enjoys pioneering the unique production and diversified activities of certain industries, including:
Civil Explosive Industries: CMI manufactures and produces the following materials:
a. Water Gel Explosives of high sensitivity, with an annual production of 5000 tons. These nitroglycerine-free explosives enjoy the following features:
- Higher explosion energy for every Kilogram.
- High resistance to water.
- High viscosity degree that allows the adhesion of cartridges to blast holes’ walls, resulting in higher utilization of the energy inherent in the explosive materials.
- Higher detonation velocity and higher density.
- High safety degree in manufacturing, transportation, and storage.
- It does not cause headaches as some other explosive materials.
- Longer shelf life.
- Diversity of cartridges in terms of weight and diameter.
b. Ammonium Nitrate/Fuel Oil (ANFO): Dry and water-resistant ANFO with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons. It is a mixture of high-quality ammonium nitrate and carbonaceous material which is prepared under certain conditions. These blasting agents enjoy the following features:
- Contains balanced amounts of oxygen, which increases the explosion efficiency, provides a secure environment and a high level of public safety.
c. Blasting accessories such as detonating cords, safety fuses, electrical detonators, delay electric detonators, and shock tube detonators (NONEL).
Other industrial fields:, CMI operation include:
a. Manufacturing engine coolants (Anti-freeze liquids), its high quality features prevent freezing, rusting, corrosion, foam and sediment inside the engines.
b. Dry mix agricultural fertilizers that contain nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK).
Technical Studies: CMI has conducted and implemented numerous technical studies, such as:
a. Geological and geophysical studies using civil explosive materials for a number of companies and associations, including: German Organization for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the Natural Resources Authority (NRA) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan, Al Balqa Applied Sciences University of Jordan, and numerous international companies from Turkey, China, Italy, and Greece.
b. Studies and research for several ores mining locations in Jordan, including phosphate, limestone, feldspar, glass sand, gold and others, in addition to providing technical consultations for leading companies in the field of mineral exploration and mining industries.
c. Consultations, technical and feasibility studies for developing new industries related to civil explosive manufacturing and for launching new mines and industrial stone quarries.
d. Research, development and training in the areas of mine drilling and use of civil explosives, utilizing the most updated methods and techniques of blasting.
Projects Implementation: CMI has accomplished numerous pioneering projects, including:
a. Earth moving and mining projects and contracts for the purpose of excavating mineral ores in general, and phosphates in particular, with an annual average production of more than 40 million tons.
b. Conducting geological and geophysical studies for official local and international entities through drilling deep blast holes with large diameters. Further, the explosive materials that have been utilized were specially manufactured for drilling of 40-50 meters deep and 650 mm diameters. CMI has used 40 tons of explosives which were detonated at once to generate an artificial earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale.
